Labubu × Porsche's Cross-Brand Collaboration
At the 2025 Icons of Porsche event in Dubai, "The Father of Labubu" Long Jiaxing and Porsche jointly displayed an art car inspired by Labubu, and launched a collectible item featuring the important character King Mon from Labubu driving a classic Porsche 911 Targa model. Limited to 60 pieces worldwide, it is expected to be released in 2026. This collaboration also marks the tenth anniversary of "The Monsters" and the sixtieth anniversary of the Porsche 911 Targa.
This collaboration between Labubu and Porsche is a cross-border experiment that combines the culture of trendy toys with classic car design: Porsche emphasizes brand emotion and design heritage, while Labubu brings a sense of playfulness and strong visual symbols. The combination of the two turns the car into more than just a means of transportation, but a form of cultural expression. For Labubu, this kind of collaboration means that its IP has the ability to enter high-end cultural scenes; for Porsche, it means leveraging trendy toy culture to reach a younger consumer audience.

The crossover between trendy toys and luxury goods
Labubu is not the first trendy toy IP to collaborate with luxury brands. Previously, several domestic and international trendy toy IPs have already intersected with high-end brands or high-end retail settings.
KAWS × Dior. In 2019, Dior Men's Spring/Summer 2019 collection invited KAWS to collaborate, and the giant pink KAWS BFF flower sculpture in the center of the runway during the launch show became a visual symbol of the fashion world that year. This collaboration set a tone: trendy toys can become the cultural language of luxury brands, rather than just simple merchandise.
Takashi Murakami × LV. Takashi Murakami uses Japan's unique otaku culture, cosplay, and anime to create his own style, emphasizing exaggerated color schemes and recurring simple shapes. From the cherry bag to the colorful cherry blossoms, these designs bring LV closer to the younger generation.
DIMOO × Chopard. The two brands have combined trendy characters with luxury jewelry to launch a new limited edition "Light and Shadow" DIMOO collaboration figurine, presenting a "wearable story" as a gift for Qixi Festival.

Collaborations with luxury brands essentially aim to imbue trendy/toy IPs with higher cultural value and aesthetic appeal. Their entry into high-end retail settings, co-creation with luxury brands, and participation in international art events all demonstrate that trendy toys are not just a consumer interest for young people but also possess collectible, aesthetic, and cultural symbolic value.
